This package includes a safari drive and overnight lodging for you and a friend in one of our luxury tents plus some essential girl food; wine and chocolate. This package also includes a sumptuous dinner for you and your girlfriend in our Savannah Café. Swap stories about old boyfriends, worst dates, best kisses and more with other women embracing their wild side.
Don’t worry if you and your pal are not the rugged outdoor type. Our tents have more in common with a bed-and-breakfast than the nearest campground! Each tent has a hardwood floor, beautiful handmade wood furnishings, and plush bed(s) with soft linens (plus an electric blanket for cool evenings). There is also a full bathroom in each tent cabin.

On December 24, 2008 at 4:55 PM, Zarafa gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. He measures about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds. Mother and baby are doing fine.

Other New Additions to the Safari West Animal Family!
On July 11, 2008, Our two Southern White Rhinos were released into their brand new enclosure after traveling cross-country from Florida. They're so surprisingly light on their feet, we began to nickname them...Fred and Ginger! The pair of five year old Southern White Rhinoceroses pranced around in excitement as soon as they touched ground. After the male explored the entire enclosure and gave it his "stamp" of approval, the animal team at Safari West released the female. Fred hovered protectively nearby during her release and then the two of them explored their new home together. The pair are happily settling in to their new home!

Welcome to a little leaping lemur!
Safari West welcomes a bouncing baby Ring Tailed Lemur who was born on June 24, 2008. Mother and baby are doing fine. The lemur family on the Isle of Lemur is having fun playing with the new baby now that mom is letting the little one climb around on her back a little more.

From our recent 15th Anniversary "Vote for Your Favorite Animal" contest, respondents chose their top three. Safari West randomly drew one entry from all entries and awarded a prize for two adults and two children to take our Safari Drive.
